WHAT IS AYURVEDA

Only those who know the secret of the visible,
the science of creation,
can interpret the invisible,
the Creator behind Creation
Atharva Veda, 10.8.37

Ayurveda is Sanskrit for the Science (Veda) of Life (Ayus). It is said to have existed since the appearance of life on earth, as part of life itself, embracing animate and inanimate kingdoms. Before, during and after their manifestation on this planet.

According to Indian mythology, Ayurveda is a Revealed Truth that the ancient sages received by intuition through Brahma, the Creator, on Mount Kailash. Ayurvedic concepts are illustrated in the Vedas, which are ancient sacred texts, and specifically in the Atharva Veda.

Lifestyle

Thanks to its solid philosophical base, Ayurveda offers a comprehensive lifestyle detailing practices to achieve and maintain good health for all living creatures. As a holistic approach to Life, it deals with health and wellbeing, as well as illness, its cure and prevention.

In simple words, AYURVEDA is:

  •  Life education to experience life to the fullest and avoid or overturn sufferings;
  •  The happiness state of feeling strong and healthy;
  •  A generous source of both physical and mental Rejuvenation techniques and Beauty care.

Relevance of Ayurveda

Ayurveda’s comprehensive approach arouses great interest all over the world. It offers very clear indications on how to maintain good health or restore it in case of illness. Ayurveda attributes great importance to diet, the quality of sleep, and the balance between the various energies and impulses that alternate in each of us. Everything at the right time and the right place! Modern people are increasingly moving away from the rhythms and natural needs inherent to the human condition. Ayurveda simply brings them back to their Nature.

The Tools of Ayurveda

Ayurveda deals with food, the environment, and the natural tendencies that are specific for each person. It encompasses the constant change that people, like the environment, experience through different seasons and stages of life, in compliance with the physiological phases which we now tend to ignore, causing great physical and mental discomforts. The interrelatedness between Microcosm and Macrocosm is one of the most immediate and relevant perspectives of Ayurveda. The level of detail and accuracy of the information, which has come down to us through the classic texts, has allowed Ayurveda scholars to codify and simplify its key Principles with extreme clarity. This knowledge is both the subject of study and immediate applicability for the different practitioners operating in the sector of this Science of Life.

AYURVEDA IN COLLABORATION AND NOT IN ANTITHESIS

Nowadays, it is crucial to grasp Ayurveda’s Universal Spirit, which supports the well-being of all individuals. For this purpose, Ayurveda is willing to collaborate with the various well-being techniques belonging to different prevention and treatment systems, both traditional and modern.
